Nineteen straw items. [Tel Aviv, 1920s and 1930s].
1-3. Three prayer books (siddurim), [ca. 1920s]. Bound in wooden bindings inlaid with straw (including colored pieces). On two of the bindings the word "Yerushalem" appears, on the third binding is the word "Tel Aviv". 10X7.5 cm to 11.5X8 cm. Fair condition. Missing title pages. Wear. Tears, stains, holes, missing inlay pieces.
4-5. Two Passover haggadot, illustrated by Nachum Gutman. Tel Aviv: "Omanut" Press, 1930. The wooden bindings are inlaid with colored straw. On the bindings is a flag-shaped decoration with a Star of David over the Hebrew inscription "Mazkeret Tel Aviv" ("Souvenir from Tel Aviv"). 17X12 cm. Fair condition. Wear. Tears, stains, holes, missing inlay piece.
6-16. Eleven wooden boxes inlaid with straw (including colored pieces). On three of the boxes the inlay forms the word "Tel Aviv", on two - the inscription "Mazkeret Tel Aviv" ("Souvenir from Tel Aviv"), on one - "Jerusalem" (in English), and on one - a Star-of-David decoration. Postcards are attached to the lids of three boxes, and a photograph is attached to the inside of one box. Size and condition vary. 10.5X4.5X12 cm to 24X11.5X35 cm. Wear.
17-19. Three boxes for holding a citron, made of wood inlaid with straw. On all three the inlay forms the word "Yerushalem". The Hebrew inscription "Pri Etz Hadar" ("Fruit of the Citrus Tree") appears on one box. Size and condition vary.
