Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Lithograph in color, after a drawing by David Roberts. F.G. Moon publishing, [London], 1841. Signed, titled and dated in the plate (1839).
David Roberts (1769-1864), active in London. Roberts was one of the first artists in the 19th century that came to paint in the Near East and shared its views with the European audience. Roberts prepared quick sketches "in situ" using watercolors and later produced lithographs available to the public.
Lithograph: 49X33 cm (leaf approx. 52X36.5 cm), framed: 77X62 cm. Good condition, foxing and some slight damages. Unexamined out of frame.
