Torah mantle. [Europe, 19th century]. Cotton and wool threads embroidery on velvet; gold and silver threads. A long and narrow mantle, with two loops on upper part. The front, made of red velvet, is adorned with rich embroidery of leaves and flowers with gold and silver threads. Large gryphon holding a branch with a flower – on top and on the bottom. 72X41 cm. Fair-good condition. Unraveled threads and wear to cotton fabric, some decorations are lacking. It is possible that the back sheet and loops are not original.
