Collection of letters sent by Henry Rappaport, soldier in the Jewish Brigade (C.M.F.) to his family in the USA, end of 1930s through mid-1940s.
Most of the letters are handwritten on plain unlined paper, some are on official stationery of the British army, stamped by the censor.
Enclosed is an issue of Jewish Life (Minnesota, April 1988), which mentioned the Rappaport home in Minneapolis, Minnesota – a center of Zionist activity. It also mentioned that Rappaport had learned farming in the University of Minnesota in 1939 in order to prepare for his move to Israel, and had joined the army forces.
