A letter signed by Rabbi "Or Moshe grandson of HaMa'or HaGadol Shraga" and six more rabbis of Yazd congregation, with their signatures and ink stamps. Yazd (Persia), [1934].
Attached is an additional leaf with copying of a letter from Rabbis of the Sephardi Beit Din in Jerusalem [of 1931], approved and signed by Rabbi Or Shraga and Rabbi Moshe Raphael.
The letters were sent to Beit HaDin HaGadol for all Ashkenazi communities in Jerusalem, concerning an authorization of ordaining Rabbi David ben Shlomo as Shochet. He was checked by Yazd rabbis, and by Rabbi Mordechai Meyuchas of Jerusalem, and rabbis of the Sephardi Beit Din in Jerusalem in 1930, and they are asking the Ashkenazi Beit Din to test his knowledge of Shchita and confirm his being ready to serve as a Shochet in accordance with Halacha.
