Many have doubted the authenticity of the book especially the author of Seder HaDorot and the Chida. However, the book is an important source of many historic legends.
The title page is partially missing. An ancient signature in Italian handwriting: "It has reached me Menachem…'. Another signature: "Shmuel Shemaya Papo" – Rabbi Shmuel Shemaya Papo, an Ancona sage, son of the Mekubal Rabbi Avraham David Papo Av Beit Din of Ancona, son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Zakut. The Chida met when visiting Ancona in 1754 and he documented the meeting in his travel journel Ma'agal Tov.
122 leaves. 19 cm. Fair condition. Title page partially missing (restored with paper replacements). Stains and wear. Worm damages to several leaves. Inscriptions and scribbles. Stamps. Damaged binding.
