Three coins minted by the Lodz (Litzmannstadt) Ghetto Judenrat and used by the Ghetto inhabitants, 1943.
Two coins in the value of 10 Reichmarks (one made of Aluminium and one of Magnesium) and one coin in the value of 5 Reichmarks (made of Magnesium). Obverse: The German words "Quittung uber" ["Receipt for"] and the face value of the coin ("10 Mark" or "5 Mark"), surrounded by the German text "Der aelteste der Juden in Litzmannstadt" ["The Jewish Elders of Litzmannstadt"]. Reverse: A Star of David, the German word 'Getto' and the date '1943'.
Diameters: 27mm (10 Reichmarks), 22mm (5 Reichmarks). Fair-poor condition. Lower part of 5 Reichmarks coin is broken.
