Map of Palestine, drawn, written and colored by hand, by Davidov (Davidoff). [Bulgaria?], 1896.
A biblical map of Eretz Israel, featuring the tribal territories, the cities of the Levi tribe and the Shelter Cities, Exodus of Israel in the desert, etc. A legend appears on the right margins; some of the captions are in Ladino. Some settlements established in Palestine appear on the map: Rishon LeZion, petach Tikva, Ekron, Rosh Pina, Yessod HaMa'ala, etc. On the right side of the lower margins, appears a decorated frame with two angels holding spears. From the Cyrillic letters, the name of the painter and the text in Ladino it is possible to assume that the map's origin is Bulgaria. 71X53.5 cm. Fair condition. Rough tears with omission, restored tears, creases and stains. Some missing parts.
