Collection of documents from the estate of R' Dr. Avraham Schlesinger. Germany and Eretz Israel, 1910s-50s. German and Hebrew.
Schlesinger (1882-1961) – born in Germany, served as rabbi in the town of Bad Buchau during the years 1916-1939. Schlesinger published six books in German and in Hebrew as well as numerous essays mainly on the topics of Judaism and Zionism. His essays were published in some of the leading periodicals of the period. In 1938 was deported to the Welzheim concentration camp. Following his liberation from the camp he immigrated to Eretz Israel.
The archive contains: books and essays by Schlesinger; newspaper cuttings and various publications in Hebrew and German; two manuscripts of books that have not been published; drafts of essays and lectures about Jews and their culture; curriculum of Beit Midrash classes, a photo of Dr. Schlesinger, and additional items.
