Passover Haggadah. Jewish Equipment Companies 514/555, Italy, Passover 1945.
Non-traditional Haggadah, typewritten and stenciled, with several illustrations. On the first leaf: "far from home and family, on foreign land, we shall celebrate tonight the fifth Passover of this war. With tens of thousands of Jewish soldiers we shall remember the Exodus from Egypt, from slavery to freedom. History turns like a wheel. What Pharaoh ordered to do to male babies only, the Nazis are doing now to the people of Israel". Printed on the back cover: "514/555 Pal Ord Store Coys, Omf." Numerous signatures and handwritten dedications of the companies' soldiers were added on the back cover: "Next year in Tel-Aviv", "Next year in our land", etc. 13, [1] pp, 17X20.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, mainly to the cover and the first and last leaves. Creases. Professionally restored - leaves and cover were sewn with thread. According to the page numbering that appears in the Bibliography Institute CD, it is possible that page no. 5 is missing in the copy which is in the collection of the National Library.
