Rabbi Elyakim Getzel Hamilzahgi (1740-1854), cousin of Rabbi Efraim Zalman Margaliot, disciples of Rabbi Efraim Zalman Margaliot and Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Voltchisak. Rabbi Elyakim who was an outstanding scholar of revealed and hidden Torah and a sharp critic, wrote this book as criticism of the book HaDrashot B'Yisrael of Zunz which was published in 1833 with comments of S. Y. Rappaport. In this juicy interesting polemic, he rejects the words of the maskilim of his generation, even using proofs from their own words.
