Erudite glosses in Ashkenazi Rashi writing and stamp in square handwriting “Yekutiel Gross, 1929 Rosh Chodesh Sivan – Berbest”.
The author is Rabbi Yekutiel Yehudah Gross Av Beit Din of Şugatag Marmarosh (perished in the Holocaust), grandson of the Admorim Rabbi Yishaya of Kerestir and Rabbi Ya’akov Yukil Teitelbaum Av Beit Din of Valava (son-in-law of the Admor author of Yitav Lev). His father, Rabbi Shmuel Gross, was appointed to the Berbest Rabbinate in 1926, after his brother Rabbi Yekutiel Yehudah moved to Sighet to serve as Dayan and mentor to his cousin Rabbi Yekutiel Yehudah Teitelbaum who was appointed to the rabbinate of Sighet at age 14, as successor of his father, author of Atzei Chaim.
