Collection of documents and handwritten letters from the Yeshiva Rabbis and its alumni who survived the Holocaust. Between 1947 -1952.
Letters from Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Bloch, from 1952, concerning resurrection of the Yeshiva in Israel and other issues; documents of the "Union of Surviving Students of the Telz Yeshiva (Lithuania) in Europe" included: a handwritten summary of the first and second meetings held by the union in 1947, quoting in detail the message of the speakers, amongst other things, eulogies of the Yeshiva leaders who perished; letters from Rabbi Yisrael Meir Karnowitz (Karno) [who later became a Rabbi in Chicago], and Rabbi Chaim Stein, both members of the union, on various issues concerning Telz Yeshiva.
All the letters were sent to Rabbi Shalom Yoel Yavner (Philanthropist and communal worker and former Telz student – see following item).
From these documents we can read the history of the Telz Yeshiva in its post-war era, of its rehabilitation in Europe , America and Israel.
