Manuscript, Kuntress Ha'hitbonenut and Kuntress Ha'hitpa'alut, "By the Rebbe of Lubavitch" [1813].
The two famous writings of "The Middle Rebbe" of Chabad, "Kuntress Ha'hitbonenut" [also known as "Sha'ar Ha'yichud"] and "Kuntress Ha'hitpa'alut", written as a missive of guidance and strengthening to his followers during his second year as Rebbe. This manuscript which contains both works, was copied a short while after their creation. The date on the title page of the manuscript indicates that the missives were written in 1813, and not 1814 as believed by many [see attached material].
Ownership inscription at the end of "Kuntress Ha'hitbonenut" reads "belongs to the Naggid… Shochet of Riga".
[177] written pages. 19.5cm. Good condition. Clean leaves. Few stains. Moth damages[with slight damage to text in a few leaves]. Half-leather binding, worn.
