Obtaining evidence in Beit Din. Ulm, Germany, [1947].
Obtaining of evidence for granting a husband approval to remarry after the Holocaust. Declaration of the witness as to have known the couple prior to the War and knowledge that the wife had been transported to death camps in November 1942.
The city of Ulm was one of the central postwar displaced persons camps. The document bears the signature and stamp of Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh Leib Ausubel-Geffen (1910-1957), rabbi of Ulm during that period [later on rabbi of Kfar Ata. Attached is a scrap of paper containing handwritten authorizations of the immersion of a bride, with the above-mentioned stamp of the Ulm Rabbinate.
