A diverse collection of photographs by photographer Beno Rothenberg. Various sites in Palestine/Israel, ca. 1940s and 1950s.
Included in the collection: Photographs of local archaeological sites (the Byzantine bath house of Avdat; Minister of Education Ben-Zion Dinur visiting the excavations along with archaeologist Benjamin Mazar and historian Haim Zev Hirschberg; other items); numerous photographs of fauna (including one of a giraffe which was used as the cover photo of Rothenberg's first book, "Animal Photographer"); photographs of the city of Safed; two photographs of the Tel Aviv Rowing Club; and more.
Most of the photographs are marked with the photographer's inked stamp; two are signed by hand on verso.
