Two belts made of leather and silver. Caucasus Region, [early 20th century].
Silver, niello; leather; fabric.
1. Belt consisting of long, narrow leather strap, with twelve leather strips vertically sewn on, connected one to another by chains. Belt and leather strips all with silver decorations in a recurrent pattern produced with niello. Small, simple buckle, decorated in niello. 45X19 cm (when buttoned).
2. Belt consisting of leather strap, with silver ornaments, decorated with niello in recurrent vegetal patterns, sewn on. Buckle composed of two elegant silver links, with vegetal patterns. 77X6.5 cm.
