Two photographs depicting the synagogue on Münchener St., Schöneberg, Berlin, [1930s].
One photograph depicts part of the building's facade and the other depicts its interior – the hall and the bimah.
The synagogue on 37 Münchener St., designed by architect Max Fraenkel, was inaugurated in 1910. It was damaged during WWII and demolished in 1956.
The photographs are stamped on verso with the stamp of Arno Kikoler, a Jewish photographer who documented Berlin's Jewish community prior to the war.
17X22.5 cm. Good condition. Stains and minor blemishes to margins.

99 (out of 100) photographs of Palestine, in ten series. Every ten photographs are placed in a thick paper cover (with titles printed on front), with an explanatory booklet. Some booklets include maps of Palestine and its surroundings on which the photographed sites are marked.
The photographs depict views of Palestine and its surroundings; architectural monuments and antiquities in Palestine, in its neighboring countries and in Rome; residents in their daily work; Jewish, Christian and Islamic holy sites in Palestine; and more. One of the photographs in the series titled "The Life of Jesus" depicts the inside of a synagogue, presumably in North Africa, and another photograph in this series depicts two Prushim holding a Samaritan Torah Scroll.
The photographs depict Palestine as the setting of the Bible's stories and as a place where time came to a standstill and Biblical reality still exists, and do not reflect the changes which took place in the decades before they was published.

An album with 13 photographs documenting a summer camp for children in Jerusalem. Jerusalem, June-August 1923. Unknown photographer.
High-quality photographs documenting the children's activities at the camp (most of them were taken in a pine grove): a meal, a siesta on cots, an art lesson, gymnastics, and more.
The album was given as a souvenir to one of the camp's staff members; a typewritten Hebrew dedication is attached to its cover. The dedication reads "To Mrs. Winfried Davis, a souvenir from her hearty and devoted work at the summer camp in Jerusalem, June-August 1923" (for information about Mrs. Davis see enclosed leaf).
Photographs: 12X17 cm. Good overall condition. Album: 17X22 cm. Fair-good condition. Some stains, tears and creases. Tears to binding, reinforced with tape.

Abraham Stavsky led to his trial in Tel-Aviv, accompanied by British police officers – press photograph issued by the NYT (New York Times) photo agency in France, May 15, 1934.
Abraham Stavsky (1906-1948) – a member of Betar and an activist in the illegal immigration enterprise of Hatzohar, Betar and the Irgun, was arrested as a suspect in the murder of Chaim Arlosoroff together with several other members of the Revisionst Movement. He was accused and convicted of murder and sentenced to death. After public protest led by Rabbi Kook, the British court of appeals acquitted Stavsky and he was eventually released from prison. Stavsky was killed aboard the Altalena during fire exchange between members of the Irgun and IDF. Press information note (French) on verso. Stamped with the stamp of the photo agency.
