Letter from Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz, Head of the Mir Yeshiva. Jerusalem, Tevet 5731 (1971). In this letter, Rabbi Chaim announces the engagement of his son Rabbi Avraham to the daughter of Rabbi Y. L. Nekritz. The engagement took place in the US and the wedding in Jerusalem. In this letter which was sent to his friend Rabbi S. in the US, he writes: "Although it is difficult for me not to take part in the Tena'im celebration, I am glad that my friend will take part in our happy event".
Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz (1902-1979), grandson of the "Saba" of Novardok and son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, served for many years as head of "Mir Yeshiva" in Jerusalem. A leading rabbi renowned for his diligence and his brilliant discourses that encompassed many Talmudic topics. "Sichot Mussar" and "Sha'arei Chaim" are among his books. The book "Sefer HaZikaron" for Rabbi Shmuelevitz was written in his memory.
