A "private" silver medal of a Jewish soldier in the 38 Batallion of the Royal Fusiliers (one of the Jewish Legions which operated in the British Army during World War I). [ca. 1919].
A 20 Piasters Ottoman coin was used in preparing the medal. One of its sides was smoothed and on it were engraved the name and rank of the soldier (L/Cp1 J. Levine), the emblem of the "Royal Fusiliers" (on its lower part a Star of David with the word "Zion", surrounded by the motto "Honisoit qui mal y pense" [May he be shamed who thinks badly of it]), and the inscriptions "Palestine 1917-19" and "38th R.F.".
Diameter: 40 mm. Two "handles" are soldered to the margins.

Photographs and a souvenir plaque from a football competition between Palestine (Tel-Aviv) and Greece (Athens), as part of the preliminary games towards the 1938 "Mondial" - "World Cup". Greece and Palestine, February 1938.
1-4. Four photographs by the photographer Yancoglou from Athens (ink stamped on the back): players of the Palestinian team on the field, players of both teams in a group photograph on the field, judges and "captains" of both teams in a ceremony of flag exchange prior to the game, group photograph of activists and organizers of the game. One photograph bears a dedication handwritten by the photographer on the back; on three photographs appears the pencil inscription "Fuchs" (on the back). Three photographs: 12X18.5 cm, one photograph: 24X17.5 cm. Good condition. Slight creases and tears. Traces of pasting on the back.
5. Photograph of the players and organizers in a party held after the game.

A souvenir plaque awarded to Gedalya Fuchs, for his participation in the preliminary games: a silver plated copper plaque inscribed "World Cup 1938 - Tel-Aviv 21.1.38, Athens 20.2.38 - to the member of the national team, Gedalya Fuchs, a present from the Palestine Football Association". The plaque is decorated with a branch and the emblem of the association (a triangle with a ball in its center surrounded by the inscription "Palestine" (in Hebrew, Arabic and English) and attached to a wooden stand.
Plaque: 5X7.5 cm, wooden stand: 10.5X14X2.5 cm. Good condition. Some of the silver plating is worn.

1. Medal awarded in a rowing competition in Haifa in 1932. On one side is a relief of a rower, marked: "E. Fraisse". On the back - a wreath, the legend "rowing surfboard grade B", name of the medal winner and the legend "Dolphin 15 X 32". Diameter: 40 mm. Suspension loop.
2. Plaque made by Shmuel Krechmer - "Prize A" award in the National championship, 1935, on behalf of the "Amateur Sports Association in Palestine". In the center is a map of Palestine, surmounted by a Star of David and the Hebrew legend "Yerushalem". Signed on reverse in Hebrew: "Krechmer Jerusalem". 29X44 mm.

"Shiviti" consisting of two cast brass plaques decorated with lions and the Seven Species. [Unknown origin, 20th century]. Unidentified artist; "Bezalel" style.
*A plaque designed as a square with a narrow base and a wide top, portrays two lions with their backs turned to each other, supporting (with their interwoven tails and their maws) a medallion inscribed "Shiviti… Tamid" surrounded by "Know before whom you are standing…" (Hebrew). In the background - vegetal decorations shaped as winding vines and clusters of grapes.
* A plaque shaped as a wavy arch, meant to be hung alongside the first plaque: seen in the center is a jug from which grow, wheat, barley, pomegranates, figs and grapes, winding on the entire surface of the plate. An engraved inscription was added (later) on the margins: "Bezalel Yerushalayim".
Large plaque: 43.5X37 cm, 8.92 Kg.; small plaque: 53.5X19 cm, 6.44 Kg. Good condition. Defects. Corrosion.
