17 photographs of soldiers in the Jewish Brigade and 140 negatives of photographs of soldiers in the brigade. Eretz Yisrael and abroad, first half of the 1940's.
140 negatives, depicting the training routine of soldiers in the Jewish brigade, soldiers praying can be seen in the negatives, playing cards, marching on the parade groud, in coffee houses, in front of "Zion" cinema in Jerusalem, near the sign "Ha-Chil Camp", on a tank, on vacation and more. The negatives, most of them, show soldiers in brigade uniform.
Various sizes of photographs, negatives 6 X 6 cm to 9.5 X 6 cm. Most of them in good condition, part of them fair condition.

57 photographs in a leather album gift of the national committee for the Jewish soldier. Soldiers in their tent in Egypt are seen in the photographs, playing soccer, moving from Egypt to Tripoli, military formations, soldiers near a sign "headquarters of "Charoshet" Company 329", in the Jewish site of cave dwellers in Libya and various archaeological sites.
Album 17 X 11.5 cm in very good condition. Average size of photographs 8.5 X 6 cm, good condition.

Photographer Yehudah Eisenstark (1912-2005) worked in the 1940's as a reporter and free-lance photographer for newspapers in Israel and abroad; was a member of the Haganah" and with the establishment of the State of Israel served in a few military positions, amongst them as a photographer, communication officer and more. Between 1947 and 1948 took many photographs in besieged Jerusalem. His collection of photographs was purchased by the State Archives and by I.D.F archive in 1984.
28.5 X 22 cm. Good condition. Description and date in pencil on reverse side. Glue remnants and peelings to reverse side.
