Includes thousands of long letter sent to Dov Yossef, mainly from his family members, telling about daily life, in the Yossef family and in the country's history displaying an impressive picture of the period and Dov Yossef activities; hundreds of photographs of Yossef in events and with various personalities, from his youth until the 1960's; long letters of Dov Yossef to his wife, Goldie. The letters are numbered and consecutive and serve as a kind of diary of his activity since 1955; hundreds of letters from Goldie to Dov, with descriptions of life in his absence from Jerusalem; drafts of speeches he held in the Knesset; Letters of condolences when Goldie died in 1972; a Bachelor degree.
Dov Yossef (1899-1980), military governor of Jerusalem during the War of Independence, minister in Israeli governments. Born in Canada, holder of a PhD degree in Philosophy and Masters degree in Law. One of the organizers of voluntary service in the Jewish Battalions in the First World War, arrived in Eretz Yisrael in 1918 with the Canadian Battalion. In 1921, after finishing law studies, returned to Eretz Yisrael to settle.
Yossef was active in the Labour Party, member of Mapai since 1933. Served as legal advisor of the Jewish Agency Management and deputy manager of its political department. During the Second World War was in charge of drafting volunteers to the British Army.
During the War of Independence and the siege on Jerusalem, served as military governor of the city. In this capacity was responsible for the supply of food, its equal distribution and its organization. In 1949 served as Ministre of Supply and Rationing ("Tzena Ministre"). He later served as Ministre of Agriculture, of Transportation, of Justice, Commerce and Industry and Ministre of Health.

Collection of letters, from the Jubilee Committee for Publishing Avigdor Hame'iri's Writings, in 20 volumes, from the 30s-40s. Documents dealing with publication of Hame'ri's writings: contracts for publishing books and the "Hamachar" journal edited by Heme'iri, various bills, requests for financial assistance for publishing the books from Bialik Institute Publishing. Two documents in Hame'ri's handwriting and with his signature. It is possible that also a number of notes and calculations are in Hame'ri's handwriting.
30 documents and several envelopes, some were stamped and mailed. Varying sizes, fair through good condition.
