Sheet silver, cut, repoussé, stamped and punched.
Hebrew dedicatory inscription "[…] dedicated by […] Salhah [in memory of] her father, Hakham David Tarab Maslaton […] and her mother […] Rina."
The Tarab-Maslaton family was a celebrated family of rabbis, renowned throughout the Near East. A number of noted members of the family served as chief rabbis of cities, including Damascus, Beirut, and Cairo, in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Length: 21 cm. Width: 23 cm. Good condition. Set in elegant wood-and-glass frame (not examined outside frame).

"Aftaba" pitcher for "mayim aharonim." [probably Syria / Near East, early 20th century].
Brass, repoussé, stamped and punched.
Pitcher for "mayim aharonim" (lit. "final water"; water for ritual of symbolic hand-washing prior to Grace after Meals) in form of thickly decorated, tall-necked vase, with neck widening toward mouth. Slender, curving handle, and slender, s-shaped spout. Removable cover, opening and closing on a hinge. Body decorated in vegetal patterns. Hebrew inscriptions, in repoussé, inside two separate hexagonal frames, one quoting the blessing recited on hand-washing, the other referring to the ritual obligation of handwashing.
Height: 32.5 cm. Width: 25.5 cm. Minor fractures. Minor blemishes, and minor warping to spout. Hinge broken and partly missing.

Incense burner consisting of two parts – a wide-rimmed bowl and a perforated cover, both with vegetal patterns. Cover removable, spherical in shape, with pierced apertures for smoke, arranged to create vegetal pattern, and with inscription in large Hebrew letters: "Ben Porat Yosef".
Height: 14.5 cm. Maximum diameter: 14.5 cm. Fractures and warping to copper. Blemishes to enamel decorations. Upper ornament (at top of cover) missing. Supporting bowl possibly not original or missing its legs or stand.

1. Hollow rectangular case. On front, branch-like decorations in delicate gilt filigree and granulation, forming a heart shape. Small droplet-like silver pendants. Two silver coins suspended at end of chain. 40X7 cm. No cover.
2. Long chain with large pendants decorated in silver thread. Three cylindrical amulet cases (two of them small, middle one large), and additional triangular ornament. Small round pendants, also made from silver thread, suspended from chain and from amulet cases. 60X9 cm.
