The first almanac of Chaliastre. The almanac includes poems by Uri Tzi Grinberg, Peretz Markish, Melech Ravitch, Avraham Leyeles (member of the New York "In Zich" group), and others. Aside from these, it also contains an article by Yosef Tchaikov - "Sculpture". The cover and publisher's symbol were made by Wolf Weintraub, and the illustration for M. Broderzon's poem – by Yitzchak Broyner. The almanac also includes drawings by Marc Chagall, for David Hofstein's poem cycle "Troyer" (sadness, see item 268 in this catalog).

Second issue of Chaliastre almanac, published in Paris. This issue includes reproductions of works by Marc Chagall, who also designed the cover. Cover portrays Paris conquered by the group of Jewish poets and authors: they are shown climbing the Eiffel Tower, one holding a flag on which "Paris" is written in Yiddish, and another carries to the top of the tower a bundle of scrolls resembling Torah scrolls, but with the word Chaliastre written on them. In this copy the cover is missing, see page 74 in booklet. Printed in 1,000 copies.

The documents reflect the organization's activities in the Ukraine, and its leaders' attempts to establish a Kultur-Lige for all of Poland.

Di Kupe (The Pile), Peretz Markish. Kultur Lige Publishers, Warsaw, 1921. First edition. The composition on the cover was made by Henryk Berlewi, illustrating the name of Markish's poem, visually resembling a pile. The obvious brutality and coarseness of the composition's elements – the title-letters and the triangles beneath them - match the tragic mood of the poem, and the purposely provoking naturalist anti-esthetic quality which is the main tone in the poem's description of the pogrom's victims. The murdered Jews were "Piled up" in the town square.
