Tractate Avot with Yayin Levanon commentary, [by Naphtali Herz Weisel]. Berlin, [1775]. First edition.
Old ownership inscription on title-page.
Rabbis approbations written by: Rabbi Shaul – Rabbi of Ashkenazi community of Amsterdam; Rabbi Shlomo Shalem – Rabbi of Sephardic Amsterdam community, Rabbi Yechezkel HaLevi Landa of Prague – author of Noda BiYehuda, Rabbi David Tevl of Brod – Rabbi and Av Beit Din of Lissa.
A major dispute arose concerning the book and its author since the author revealed leanings toward Moses Mendelsohn, father of the Enlightenist Movement. Even seven years later, the Noda BiYehuda wrote sharp letters against Weisel's pamphlet "Divrei Shalom Ve'emet.
