Many of the books have dedications of authors or publishers to members of the Sassoon family. Special copies and bindings with embossments of the owners' name, etc.
The collection includes the following books:
· Bet El, prayers, selichot and tikunim edited by R. Avraham Chamoi. Livorno, [1878]. Copy prepared especially for R. Saliman David Sassoon with a printed dedication by the author expressly for him which does not exist in other copies. Leather binding with gilt ornamentation and inscription "Saliman David Sassoon", with the author's handwritten dedication. · Ketab Mesli Elokat, compilation of Torah teachings, by R. Menashe Matzliach. Jerusalem, 1901. Judeo-arabic. On Page 99 are two marginalia by R. David Saliman Sassoon (one begins with: "I was told
that in Yemen…"). · Birkot Shamayim, Mahadura Tanina. Livorno, 1922. A special leaf was bound before the title page printed in silver and gold ink in honor of "The dear…David Elya Ezra".
