The "Exodus-1947" affair. Aroisgeben dorch der Haganah in Galut Eiropa, [Germany?, 1948]. Yiddish.
Duplication of typed document. Apparently, the booklet was printed for members of the "Haganah" who were in Germany at the time, engaged in purchasing weapons, recruiting and training volunteers and assisting the "Bricha" movement. One of the first publications regarding the "Exodus Affair".
134 pp, 21X14.5 cm. Good condition. Numerous stains to cover. Front cover's top left corner missing. Minor tears to margins of a number of leaves, and stains (mostly to first leaves).

Figures at the Atlit detention camp, two paintings by Hamy Gal. Ca. 1941.
Watercolor and ink on paper. One work is signed (in English), titled and dated.
Hamy Gal (1913-2005), Romanian-born painter. In 1941 Gal arrived in Palestine aboard the illegal immigrant ship Darien II. The ship was arrested by the British authorities upon docking at Haifa Port. Its passengers, including Gal, were detained in the Mizra detention camp (near Acre) and later sent to the detention camp at Atlit. Gal was released in 1942, and in 1943 he settled in Nahariya.

2. Notice from October 1962 - a call to sign a petition demanding that "the sewing of uniforms for our people's murderers be ceased immediately" (at the time, the ATA factory produced uniforms for the West German army). 35X50 cm. Folding marks.

Plaster sculpture dedicated to the Allies' victory over Nazi Germany. Unsigned.
On its four sides are soldiers waving their weapons in the air as a sign of victory, and above them are flags of the Allies: the U.S., Britain, and the U.S.S.R., as well as a flag of Israel. Possibly a maquette for a monument or a larger sculpture.
Maximum height: 58 cm, maximum width: 32 cm, maximum length: 21 cm. Fair-good condition. Some parts missing and some glued fractures and light fractures.

Square stone plaque with rounded bottom corners and two oil fonts extending forward from its bottom part. Hebrew inscription etched on a black background: "In memory of the Riga fallen, destroyed by the enemies of our people", with a Star of David painted white.
9.5X10.5 cm, maximum thickness: 4.5 cm. Attached with screws to wooden plaque 13X17 cm. Good overall condition. Slight damage.

Sabbath menorah made of stone, from the internment camps in Cyprus. [Ca. 1948].
Five-branched menorah. Both sides are decorated with a relief of a Star of David bearing the word "Zion" and the letters tav, shin, het (spelling out the Hebrew year 5708 - 1948). One side is inscribed with the words "Shabbat Shalom" and the other with "Le'Zikaron Me'Kafrisin" ("A souvenir from Cyprus"). The menorah is placed on a stone base (detachable).
Height (including base): 22 cm. Width of base: 22.5 cm. Good condition. Stains and rubbing to base. One leg restored with glue. Small fractures.

Two-branched Sabbath candlestick made of chiseled stone, produced by detainees at the internment camps in Cyprus, 1948.
The candlestick body is shaped in the form of the letter tzadi, in which the letters yod-vav-nun are chiseled, together comprising the Hebrew word "Tziyon" - Zion. At the top are two candle holders.
The front of the candlestick is chiseled with the Hebrew inscription "Shabbat Shalom" and two decorations in the form of the Tablets of the Law. The back is chiseled with the Hebrew inscription "Souvenir from Cyprus / 5708". The base of the candlestick is etched with the year: 1948.
Base width: 12 cm. Height: 18 cm. Good condition. Chips with losses and glued fractures to candle holders.

Wooden candlestick in the shape of a arch facing upwards, on the top of which are two candle holders made of stone.
The two sides of the candlestick body are inlaid with pieces of stone with relief Hebrew inscriptions reading "Cyprus" and "5708" and decorations in the shape of barbed wire. The candlestick is placed on a square wooden base topped by a round stone plate.
Height: 15.5 cm. Base: 9X9 cm. Good condition. Damage and chips with losses to both candle holders. Stains, damage and fractures to stone pieces. Slight defects to wood.

Desk stand in the shape of a round niche with a lid, behind which is a holder for visiting cards. On the niche lid is an etched Hebrew inscription reading "Kafrisin" (Cyprus).
Height: 3.5 cm, length: 10 cm, width: 7 cm. Good-fair condition. Light rubbing to stand body. The lid is broken and restored.
