Large amulet, kept folded (5.5X5.5 cm). Entirely handwritten, in brown-black ink, with several additions-decorations in blue pencil. Includes a variety of texts for protection and safeguard, for remedy and success in different matters, "K'tav Mal'achim" and names of angels, letter combinations and initials, Stars of David, Hamsah, and more.
45.5X35.5 cm. Fair condition. Many folding marks and stains. Tears, some with damage to text, professionally restored.

Amulet for protection of a newborn, in the Romaniote style of Greek Jewry, [Greece], Tishrei, 5663 [1902].
Ink on paper.
A leaf for blessing, protecting and safeguarding a newborn baby born to R' Yosef Elia Koliya. This unique amulet was written around the birth of a boy, for protection and safeguard, prior to giving him a name and prior to his circumcision.
On upper part - seven arches with initials and names of guarding angels, Sanoi, Sansanoi, and Semangelof. Under the arches are three circles surrounding Stars of David with initials of Psalms verses. Below the circles appear text lines with verses concerning faith, observing Mitzvot, protection and safeguard, and below them names of the patriarchs and matriarchs, and a "LaMenatze'ach" Menorah. On left and right sides of the Menorah base appear additional initials of Psalms verses with two circles with flowers. In the frame surrounding the leaf appear various verses and the blessing for the newborn baby.
50X35 cm. Fair-good condition. Creases, folding marks and stains. Ink smears. Tears, some damages to text. Placed in a passe-partout (pasted in its upper part).

Handwriting on carnelian gemstone; 21k gold, turquoise gems. On the reddish carnelian appears the inscription "BeEl Shadai". A dozen turquoise gems are set in the frame. 2X2 cm. Good condition.
2. Amulet shaped as a stylized leaf. [Iraq-India or Eretz Israel, late 19th century].
Decorated handwriting on parchment, in a gilt-filigree frame. Inscribed in the center: "Shadai Tzeva'ot Hashem", surrounded by initials of "Ana BeKo'ach" and "אמדקדשנ".. A dedication i on the lower part: "HaBetu'…Rachel Bat…Solomon..". Red floral ornamentations. Rachel Ezra (Sassoon), wife of Rabbi David Ezra from India, daughter of Solomon David Sassoon, sister of collector David Solomon Sassoon. Born in 1877 and passed away in 1952. Length: 4 cm, width: 2 cm. Good condition.

Carved stone; silver; enamel.
On the bright stone appear the letters "שד-י", within an arch decorated with repetitive diagonal lines. Bells and pendants are attached to the silver frame with blue enamel beads.
6X3.5 cm. Good condition. Old break to lower part of stone; hole (for hanging?). Lacking enamel decorations.

Silver, sawn, pierced, engraved and embossed; granulation; partially gilt. Marked with manufacturer's mark (HS?).
Unique design. Delicate Torah shield, with rich ornamentations in vegetal patterns - branches, flowers and fruit of various kinds, embossed in various degrees of relief, which results in an airy and elaborate look.
Above and under the "window" which serves for presenting the names of Torah Portions, gilt decorations are attached with screws. Three gilt granulation pendants on the lower part (one missing and replaced by another pendant), ending with an acorn-like ornament. Chain with an attached label, bearing the name of philanthropist and businessman Solomon David Sassoon (1841-1894), father of the renowned collector David Solomon Sassoon.
Length: 17.5 cm, width: 15.5 cm. Good overall condition. One missing pendant is replaced by another pendant. Slight breaks at margins. The back part of the "window" - missing.

On the right and on the left side appear engraved ornamentations of columns; on the capitals appear images of ribbons and heads of birds of prey, and on their lower part - floral decorations. In the center of the shield appears the Ark of the Covenant, with Tablets of the Law placed on it, and a pair of angels depicted as birds with an engraved inscription: "Veshamartem et divrey HaTorah Hazot" and "Aron HaEdut". The Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock are engraved on the lower part of the shield. Chain for hanging.
Length: 36.5 cm, max. width: 27.5 cm. Good condition. Bends at margins.
