Poster in four languages on behalf of Lieutenant Colonel E. A. Stanton, the military governor. Rosenfeld Brothers Press, Haifa, 5 April 1919. English, French, Arabic and Hebrew.
The poster informs local residents of the arrival of "the Inter-Allied Commission", promises they will be allowed to present their views, and assures them that they "need not be perturbed by the unauthorised and exaggerated forecasts which may appear in Papers regarding the future political and economic status of the country".
The Commission, also known as the King-Crane Commission, was dispatched by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson to investigate whether the mandate over Palestine may be handed to the United States.The Commission report found that most of the country’s residents were interested in an American mandate, but as President Wilson sustained a stroke and could no longer function, the report was shelved and only published in the press in 1922. Enclosed is a collection of directives and official notices of the Palestine Government from 1921, including the Notrim Directive.

The broadside opens with words on behalf of King George V regarding the British Mandate in Palestine and the appointment of a High Commissioner. Following are Samuel's plans to develop the country and promote the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in the country, while maintaining balanced relationships between the Jewish Yishuv and the Muslim and Christian populations. The coat of arms of the United Kingdom appears on top.
Approx. 56.5X48.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Folding marks and many creases. Stains. A tear of about 17 cm (along the folding line), with damage to text.

Typewritten leaf with the sharp reaction of the British High Commissioner John Chancellor to the 1929 Riots. (Three copies). Leaf 27 cm. Good condition.
2. Proclamation of High Commissioner John Chancellor from 1 September 1929 - the official Hebrew version of the first reaction of the British to the 1929 Riots (with changes compared to the notice distributed earlier by airplanes). "Greek Monastery - Jerusalem" Press, 1929.
In his response, the High Commissioner blames the Arabs for the outbreak of the riots. "I have returned from the United Kingdom to find to my distress the country in a state of disorder and a prey to unlawful violence. I have learned with horror of the atrocious acts committed by bodies of ruthless and bloodthirsty evil-doers, of savage murders perpetrated upon defenseless members of the Jewish population … These crimes have brought upon their authors the execration of all civilized peoples throughout the world…." A volume with 85 issues of "Palestine & Transjordan" published in Jerusalem between the years 1936-1938, containing much information, from an Arab point of view, about political, economic, legal and social affairs in Palestine, Transjordan and the Arab world. The publication of the paper was interrupted several times by British Mandate authorities - twice for three months and once for six months, and this fact is mentioned in the headline of the issue printed when publication was resumed.
Some of the issues include caricatures, some anti-Zionist and even anti-Semitic. Some of the issues include photographs as well. It is possible that no additional issues have been published.
