"At the Gypsy Camp", illustrated poster - invitation to a "Purim Festival under the Patronage of Lady Reading", organized by the Maccabi Society in Haifa. Haifa: Omanut, 1937. Signed in print: Bass [Yosef Bass]. Hebrew and English.
Handsome illustration showing a couple of Gypsy musicians. On the lower right part of the poster are the event's details in Hebrew and English: "Dances accompanied by a Gypsy orchestra and a military jazz orchestra… prizes for successful masquerades". The poster designer, Yosef Bass, had arrived in Israel a year earlier and studied architecture at the Technion in Haifa.
63X95 cm. Good condition. Folding marks, creases and foxing to margins. Tear to lower margins. Restored tears to corners, margins and one folding line.

Poster calling on the public to donate a self-imposed tax to the JNF, to promote the enterprise of "redeeming the Hula and Galilee surroundings": "The redemption of the Galilee, with its mountain ridges and fertile valleys, reviving its deserted places and turning them into vibrant Jewish settlements - this is our duty at this great time… the Jewish National Fund extends its hand to the Upper Galilee, birthplace of the heroes of Israel, bringing to it the blessing of the Hebrew worker, who shall slake its thirst with the sweat of his brow and restore its honor as of old…" [Hebrew]. "All Roads Lead to Egged - Egged Leads on all the Roads", illustrated advertisement leaf of the Egged transportation company. No printer indicated, [1940s?]. Hebrew and English.
Illustration of a road sign showing the direction to Haifa, Jerusalem, Tiberias and Tel Aviv. Apparently, the leaf was used as an Egged calendar (the calendar can be attached to the bottom part, and on the top part are two holes for hanging).
Approx. 18.5X33.5 cm. Good condition. Tears restored with glued cloth on the back of the leaf. Two tears, ca. 3-4 cm long.
