Handwritten letter by Theodor Herzl on the official stationery of “Di Velt,” framed with a numbered and autographed etching by Hermann Struck.
The letter is in German: “Dear friend, It was not possible for the management to reach a decision. All I could do… was that the masters… of the committee, Dr. Katznelson and Loewe... will decide within 8 days. Both have traveled to… London. Warm regards, Yours, Herzl.” Dated 29.5.1900.
The letter – 14x22.5 cm, the etching – 17x24 cm. In the elaborate frame – 52.5x70 cm.
Very good condition. The letter has small tears to margins, some of the words are faded. The etching has some stains.

Large collection of documents from the Zionist congresses 15-22, from the archive of Rabbi Moshe Ostrovsky HaMeiri, who participated on these congresses on behalf of the Mizrahi, was active in the education committee and chairman of the committee in the 17th congress.

A thick diary in handwriting by Max Nordau (1849-1923), thinker, writer and lecturer, a physician and one of the founders of the Zionist movement.
Dedicated to his daughter Maxa Simona Nordau. In the diary the father describes the life of his daughter from her birth on January 10th 1897 in Paris until April 12th 1908. Throughout the diary are many photographs of the daughter, from baby to young girl. Attached are a number of postcards, notes written in German and French by Maxa and drawings. Nordau details her development each day, week and month, all her activities, conversations with her parents, her character and various events in which she participated, such as erecting a tombstone on the grave of Heinrich Heine. Diary is written in German.
Previous owners: The diary belonged to Maxa Nordau, her daughter Claudy Grinblatt gave the diary to her cousin Yosef Epstein (Tel Aviv). Sold in auction by Ben-Ami Endres in 2006.
Around 150 leaves, 22.5 cm.

Contains copies of around 100 letters and telegrams sent from London between January and December 1915, to an impressive number of Zionist leaders. The letters The letters reflect all the political and bureaucratic of the Zionist organization's management which was located in London during WWI.Among the addressees: Yehuda Leib Magness, Max Nordau, Ze'ev Jabostisky, Aharon Aronson, Chaim Weizmann, and Tschlenov's wife.
