Volume I includes 4 folded maps, Volume II contains one folded map. Maps are of Palestine, Jerusalem, and the Middle East, and they have wide margins, and are in very good condition. Both volumes also include engravings of the Holy Ark, musical instruments, tefillin, the Choshen – priestly breastplate, the High Priest, coins, and more.

Very good condition. The original parchment cover is slightly warped. Foxing, especially to margins and to first and last pages. Slight moth holes and tears to spine.

Arthur Rugh, an American, Christian and Protestant, was a guest lecturer at Yenching University in Peking. He spent in Palestine from 1934 to 1935. He described his impressions in letters to his children and his friends in Peking and these are compiled in this book. His descriptions deal mainly with Christian sites in Palestine, but most of his impressions are from Jerusalem.
