Photo album documenting activities at the educational institute "Shomriya" in Kibbutz Mishmar HaEmek, [ca. 1948].
26 professional photos documenting the institute's operations during the War of Independence. Featured, among others, Chaim Weizmann visiting the institute, a building hit by a bomb, an armed guard, parade of pupils with arms, and more. The institute, established in 1931, was the first educational institute of "HaShomer HaTza'ir" movement. On the album binding - a copper plaque, designed as the central building of the institute. 18 photos: 12X18 cm + 8 photos: 9X13 cm. Good condition.

Collection of photos of the dancer Rachel Nadav - album with photos of dance and studio photos.
Nadav (1912-2003), Israeli ballet dancer, born in Aden (Yemen). In 1933 Nadav joined the ballet company of the dancer and choreographer Rina Nikova, a pioneer classic ballet dancer in Eretz Israel. Nadav became leading dancer of Nikova's "Yemenite Ballet Company" and performed around the country and abroad. In the early 1940s she founded a ballet company and integrated classic dances with Yemenite dances, influenced by Nikova's school, and inspired by biblical texts.
• Album containing twenty four photos of Rachel Nadav and other dancers. [1940s?]. Professional b/w photos, portraying Rachel Nadav alone or with other dancers, in oriental dances (outdoor photos). It is possible that the photos, or some of them, were taken by Zoltan Kluger. See attached material (photo by Zoltan Kluger, similar to one of the photos in the album, which appeared in "Davar" newspaper in 1949). 24 photos, average size: 15X12 cm, mounted on the album leaves. Album: 32X21 cm.

Photographer Moshe Gross, native of Leipzig 1925, made Aliya to Eretz Israel in 1933. Served in the Palmach and was involved in photography tours and preparation of operation files for the intelligence unit of the Irgun. In 1956 he founded the photography department of the Electric Company; documented infrastructure projects in the country and was involved in architectural photography. His photos transmit the aesthetic influence of "New Photography" of the 1930s in Europe. Photos: 18X23 cm, pasted to album leaves: 25.5X35 cm. Good condition.

De Hann's name is inscribed on all of the postcards, by hand or typewritten.
De Hann (1881-1924) - jurist, journalist and poet, born in Holland. De Haan was a Zionist activist who became religiously committed, moved to Eretz Israel and joined the ultra orthodox congregation in Jerusalem. Amongst other activities he organized a Haredi Jews delegation to Emir Abdulla, King of Jordan, as part of his endeavors to hinder the Zionist plan. De Haan was assassinated - this was considered the first political assassination in Eretz Israel. Good to very good condition. One postcard was used. Slight flakings.
