Extensive collection of letters, brochures, booklets, newspapers and documents, from the period of the War of Independence and the establishment of the State of Israel, 1947-1949.
A varied and rich collection which includes hundreds of items. Among them: tens of letters sent during the Independence War which contain first-hand evidence about actual events in Eretz Israel, military guidance brochures printed during the war and after the establishment of IDF and various brochures for soldiers; tens of publications and brochures about the war and the situation in the country; enlistment-certificates and release-certificates, military passes; "Yom HaMedinah" issue of "HaAretz" newspaper (Iyar 7, 1948); issues of "Davar LeYeladim", and more. 1. Volume of fifty issues of "Iton Rishmi" of the Provisional Government. Issue no. 1 (14.5.1948) through issue no. 50 (11.2.1949). Issues contain legislations and regulation of the Provisional Government, with rulings and decisions taken by various courts, as well as much information about the emergency state in the country and initial organization of the different institutions of the young state. Worming on leaves of last issues.
2-3. Two volumes, regulations and laws, additions to the fifty issues of "Iton Rishmi".
4. Book of Laws. Laws legislated by Knesset Israel in 1949.
5. File of Regulations, municipal laws of the various cities around the country, legislated in 1949.
The volumes were owned by an attorney, who added handwritten corrections and comments on the margins.

A booklet including "collection of announcements, orders, edicts, etc. issued during different periods by various central institutions…during transition to an independent Jewish rule in the country”. 28 pp, 24.5 cm. Good condition. Minor stains. Ink stamps.
2. "Mo'etzet Ha'am". Tel-Aviv, May 16, 1948. "Printed with authorization of the Provisional Government". Protocols of four first sessions of Mo'etzet Ha'am, held on May 4, 5, and 14 (on the same day. One meeting was held at 13:50 and later, at 16:30, another session was held, during which David Ben-Gurion read the "Declaration of Independence"). Includes the text of the declaration, and discussions dealing with the subject, as well as a photo of the Scroll. 26, [2] pp, 24 cm. Good condition. Stains. Ink stamps. Inscription in pen on the cover.

Circa 200 elections posters and broadsides, for the Constituent Assembly (First Knesset) and the Second Knesset, 1948-1952.
The collection includes posters of small and large parties, among them parties which were not elected to the Knesset like "HaPo'elet VeHaisha HaDatit". Problems of the young state are well reflected in the posters: Aliya and absorption, black market and austerity, security and infiltration problems and more. Numerous items appear in several copies.
