Report of the public inquiry committee concerning the Wadi Salib events on 9/7/59, submitted to the Government on August 17, 1959. [Jerusalem, 1959].
"Wadi Salib Riots" were a series of street demonstrations and riots, which occurred in 1959 in Wadi Salib neighborhood in Haifa. The events were a social rebellion against deprivation and discrimination on an ethnic basis of North African Jews, and against the Mapai establishment which ruled the state in those days. Following the events, the government decided to appoint an inquiry committee headed by Judge Moshe Etzioni, to check the way the police functioned and the reasons that led to the riots. Members of the committee, which composed this report, were Moshe Etzioni, Ya'akov Klebanov, Rabbi Yitzchak Abu-Hazeira, Shmuel N. Eisenstadt and Ram Salomon. The committee found that the police acted with moderation, the difficult situation of the neighborhood and a high unemployment rate led to a sense of deprivation and discrimination amongst the residents and "intentional discrimination on the part of the state and nation is nonexistent". [2], 22, [2] leaves, 33 cm. Fair-good condition. Cover partly detached, with tears. Tears to back cover. Minor creases and stains

"Tzipor HaNefesh, a supplement for satire, humor etc", weekly magazine edited by Dan Ben-Amotz, Haim Hefer and Amos Keinan. Six non-consecutive issues. March-April 1965.
The satiric magazine "Tzipor HaNefesh" was issued in 1964 as a supplement to "Yediot Achronot" daily newspaper. The editors expressed left-wing views and offered extreme satire - more than common in other papers, which led finally to a decision by the paper's editorial to cancel the supplement in 1965. In response to this, Hefer, Keinan and Ben-Amotz decided to publish it as an independent paper (the title was changed every week, in view of a mandatory law which allowed publishing one issue only without a permit), but due to financial difficulties publication was discontinued a short while later. 6 issues, 12 pp. per issue. Ca. 42 cm. Condition varies.

Onomasticum veteris testamenti sive tractatus philologicus. Lexicon of the Old Testament with Philological treatise by Johann Simonis. Halle, 1741.Latin, Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopian and Greek.
Engraved frontispiece - map of Eretz Israel, with important Biblical sites, mountains, cities, and the division by the twelve tribes, captioned in Hebrew; decorated with grapevines and grapes symbolizing the fertility of the land; all within an ornate frame. Cartographer not mentioned.
One of the earliest and most important maps of Eretz Israel, captioned in Hebrew, prior to the 19th century. The map was inspired by verses from the Book of Psalms referring to planting grapevines in Eretz Israel. The grapes symbolize the People of Israel, the exodus from Egypt and the conquest of Eretz Israel. On the grape leaves appear the names of Kings, Prophets and other outstanding biblical figures. The name "Israel" appears on the vine.
The map is oriented to the north and its northern borders are Lebanon and Mount Hermon. In the south, the map reaches the estate of the tribe of Yehuda, the town of Hebron and the Dead Sea. In the west, "the Great Sea" with several vessels, and in the east - Trans-Jordan. The River Jordan flows from Lebanon southward, through the Hula Lake ("May Marom"), the Sea of Galilee and into the Dead Sea. Towns are geographically located incorrectly, for example Be'er Sheba is located north-west of Jerusalem.
The author of the book, Johann Simonis (1698-1768), professor of Theology and History of the Church in Halle University, a Hebraist, Orientalist and philologist.
Laor 730. Wajntraub - Hebrew Maps of the Holy Land, 1992, p. 67.
644, [118] pp, 20.5 cm. Book in good condition, stains. Map in good condition, minor stains. Not centered on the leaf. New leather binding.
