Ze'ev Raban, sketch for an illustration from the series "The Ten Cities". Pencil on paper. Not signed.
A fine sketch in pencil. General view of the Old City of Jerusalem and the vicinity. Surrounded by a decorated frame, designed as a gate. The pillars of the gate are positioned on a pair of crouching lions; topped by inscription "Yerushalem".
Below the illustration, handwritten inscription: "pictures of the country, book's illuminations". Next to it an additional inscription, deleted: "Holy Sites".

In the final printed drawing Jerusalem is portrayed from a different angle but the illustrated frame is identical. Leaf ca. 25X18 cm. Good condition. Folding marks. Stains. Several miniature holes. Tears at margins (no damage to illustration).

Meir Gur-Aryeh, sketch for a postcard. Ink and pencil on paper. Inkstamped on the reverse with the stamp "Industrial Art Workshop", joint workshop of Ze'ev Raban and Meir Gur-Aryeh. [ca.1950].
A fine illustration in black and white. On the left - Herzl’s profile portrait and on the right- a drawing of Haifa Bay, with illustration of Jezzar Pasha Mosque in Acre and the Technion building in Haifa. A boat sailing to Israel's shores is seen in the center.

This illustration also appears on a postal envelope for the 1951 Independence Day of Israel. Leaf ca. 25X16.5 cm. Good condition. Minor damages.
