On June 28, 1948 (during the first Independence War cease fire) the Chief of Staff Ya'akov Dori published "Day Order no. 1 – IDF Oath Day". Text says: "…we will swear today and express our loyalty to our state…we are ready for any sacrifice…until peace will prevail in our state-homeland…". Attached is a booklet: "Zvah HaHaganah for the Army's Oath Day, (28.6.48)".
