Sefer Perot Genoser, Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah with Pri Chadash by Rabbeinu Chizkiya di Silwa, and Pri To’ar by Rabbeinu Chaim ben Atar. Amsterdam, [1742]. First edition of this composition by holy Rabbi Chaim en Atar, author of Or HaChaim, which was printed during his lifetime. Title page and interesting approbations mention journey of Rabbeinu Chaim ben Atar from city of Salé in Morocco and his arrival in Jerusalem in order to serve in leadership of Knesset Yisrael Yeshiva which he himself founded.
Signatures of “Young Yichye ben Saliman Al Kapach”. Many glosses in Yemenite handwriting. Ga’on Rabbi Yichye son of Rabbi Saliman Kapach (1850-1932), among leading rabbis of the Beit Din in Sana’a and eventually founder of the Dardaim Movement in Yemen.

Sefer Minchat Chinuch, “Comprehensive explanation on Sefer HaChinuch, of tremendously in-depth study and excellent proficiency, wonder of wonders…” Sections 1-3. Lemberg, [1869]. Printing press of Rabbi Uri Zev Wolf Salat.
First edition of the book which was published anonymously, during lifetime of author, Ga’on Rabbi Yosef Babad Av Beit Din of Tarnopol, and as is written on title page: “Authored by one of geniuses of our days the holy and pure, and due to his humbleness emitted his name… was published with the supreme effort of the rabbi… Reuven Cohen Rapaport”. Only in the second edition which was published in Lemberg in 1889, approximately 15 years after the demise of the author, did the publisher reveal the name of the author.

The author, Rabbi Meir Simcha HaCohen of Dvinsk (1843-1926), an exceptional Torah scholar and tsaddik, one of the most prominent leaders of Eastern European Jewry before the Holocaust. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, Av Beit Din of Šafov and Şimleu Silvaniei (1863-1944, Otzar HaRabbanim 18739) was the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yehudah Schwartz, author of Kol Aryeh, Av Beit Din in Mad. He was a pious Kabbalist and Torah scholar, among Hungary's leading Orthodox Rabbis and halachic authorities, a close Chassid of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet, and a close friend and admirer of the Rebbe's son, Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. Among his books: Lechem Shlomo Responsa, Tiyul BaPardes, Rachmei Ha'Av and more.
Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert said about Rabbi Ehrenreich that no one exists in his generation that can answer halachic queries as well as the Rabbi of Şimleu Silvaniei. Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freind of Năsăud, who led thousands of Chassidim, would stand in utter submission before Rabbi Ehrenreich. The Darkei Teshuva described him as the second Sha'agat Aryeh.

Hungarian Jews, in spite of the difficulties they were experiencing, continued printing books until the German army entered Hungary in the spring of 1944.

Tractate Nedarim, of the Babylonian Talmud. Published by the Va'ad Agudat HaRabbanim in the American zone of Germany (Ashkenaz), with the assistance of Va'ad HaHatzala. Munich St. Ottilien, 1946.
Illustrated title page with illustrations of the extermination camps "The labor barrack where we dwelled, covertly studied and prayed". In his introduction, the publisher writes about the "taking away the books from 'The People of the Book'" by the "evil men" who destroyed the European Jews and attempted to erase all Hebrew books. "All Jewish books were taken to be processed or for some other lowly purpose…and therefore after liberation, the longing and thirst for books was great. Yeshivot were established but there were no books from which to study… This is what motivated us to print a few tractates for individual and communal study… We have only Tractate Kiddushin and Nedarim in one, almost new, volume so we have decided to copy, print,and distribute them among the She'erit Hapleita in the German exile…".
After some time elapsed, in 1949, the complete set of Talmud was printed in Munich in one single edition of 19 volumes featuring a different illustration than this first edition.

Letter of halachic responsa handwritten and signed by Rabbi "Hillel ben Leah Lichtenstein, Rabbi of Crasna", sent to Jerusalem to Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Rabbi of Niemce. Budapest, 1946. Query concerning an agunah from Hungary, whose husband was arrested in Poland right before the Holocaust and his fate remained unknown.
Rabbi Hillel Lichtenstein (1910-1979), grandson of Rabbi Hillel Lash of Kolomyya. Served as junior rabbi of Crasna, under his father Rabbi Bendit Lichtenstein Rabbi of Crasna. Son-in-law of the Gaon of Shamloy Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich. After the Holocaust, he established a yeshiva in the DP camp in Landsberg (Germany). Afterwards, he moved to Paris and subsequently to Williamsburg New York where he established his Beit Midrash and was one of the leaders of the ultra-Orthodox circles in the US. In his book Kavanat HaLev, the Rabbi of Crasna writes "Roni Akara" - his responsa concerning Holocaust agunot in which he also brings halachic foundations heard from the "Exceptional Gaon of Niemce author of Be'er Chaim Mordechai".
The letter's recipient: Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Roller (1868-1947, Otzar HaRabbanim 6487), a leading Hungarian rabbi, Torah genius and renowned tzaddik.
