* Ketubah recording the marriage of the groom "Uri, called also Philip" (of the Peine family) with the bride "Hendel, called also Henny" (of the Fleischman family). Scribal writing on parchment. Hamburg, 1907.
The Ketubah has two signatures, one by "Yosef ben R' Refael Rosenblatt Chief Shliach Tzibur and faithful witness of the Ashkenazi community of Hamburg…" referring to the renowned Chazan (cantor) Yossele Rosenblatt (1882-1933), one of the greatest cantors of all times, who contributed greatly to shaping the world of Jewish Chazanut. In 1906, he began filling the position of Oberkantor (Chief Cantor) in the city of Hamburg, where his fame started spreading, and where he remained until he finally moved to the USA in 1912. He signed this Ketubah about a year after he was appointed Oberkantor in the Hamburg community at the age of 25.

Adorned with colored illustrations characteristic of Persian Ketubot: lions, birds, cypresses, the sun and flowers. With two Stars of David and an illustration of Shiviti with menorahs with texts (LaM'natzeach, Ana B'Choach, etc.) and the name of tzaddikim: Eliyahu HaNavi, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, Rabbi Meir Ba'al HaNess and Shmuel the prophet.
The motif of the lion with half a sun in the shape of a human face is one of the national symbols of Persia and it appears on many ketubot from that area. The Isfahan community was one of the largest and oldest Jewish communities in Persia.
Especially large, approximately 66X69 cm. in a frame. Spotting and wear, not examined out of the frame.

Handwritten and signed by the witness Rabbi "Aryeh Simcha ben Rabbi Shatz" [Rabbi Aryeh Simcha ben Rabbi Eliezer Perlmutter, a renowned Torah scholar. Some of his Torah words were printed in the books of the brothers Rabbi Avraham Zvi Perlmutter Ra'avad of Warsaw and Rabbi Moshe Perlmutter Rabbi in Łódź], and with the signature of the second witness "Yehuda David ben Rabbi Zvi Ze'ev".

* Dozens of Gittin, Shtarot Shelichut and divorce permits, written in Persian communities: Golpayegan, Hamedan, Sanandaj, Isfahan, Kashan and Nahavand, from 1845-1930. First page illustrated with a floral frame, surrounded by the verse "His arms are rods of gold set with beryl…" and the year 1881. The verse and its Midrash are brought one after the other.
The Jewish-Kurdish translation is a dialect of the Aramaic language. After the Arab conquest in the 7th century and Islamic conversion throughout the Middle East, the population gradually started to speak Arabic causing the Aramaic language to become almost extinct. Aramaic survived only in small communities, mainly among the Kurdistan Jews.
[20] leaves. Missing leaves. 17.5 cm. Fair condition. Wear, dark moisture stains and ink stains. One leaf has coarse tears with damage to text. New binding.
