Four decrees concerning the rights of Jews in Frankfurt am Main. Frankfurt am Main, 1765-1790. German.
1. Decree restricting Jews. January, 1765. Decree ordering the Frankfurt Jews to avoid leaving the Street of Jews, avoid trade and avoid participation in Christian holidays or public shows, so as not to disturb other citizens in the city. The decree was confirmed on February 1756 and re-confirmed in January 1765. [1] leaf, 32X40 cm.
2. Municipal regulation restricting the trade by Jews. November 18, 1766. According to the regulations, following complaints by citizens that Jews are trading leather in city fairs and thus harming the business of local merchants, the Jews are forbidden to lead any negotiations or sales of such kind. Breaking this regulation will lead to a punishment. [1] leaf, 35X21 cm.
3. Decree on behalf of the mayor and council members of the City of Frankfurt am Main, forbidding any abuse against Jews, citizens of the city. September 3, 1781. The decree forbids any abuse or violence against the city's Jews. This is based on an order issued by the emperor on February 1711 which protects German Jews. Further on, some cases are mentioned in which citizens of the city hurt Jews and aroused civil unrest. [4] pp, 32.5 cm.
4. Regulation restricting trade by Jews. June 22, 1790. Jews of villages and cities out of Frankfurt are forbidden to lead any trade with the Christian citizens of the city. The authorities have to be informed about such cases and those who break the regulation will be punished accordingly. This regulation was issued in 1738 and re-confirmed in 1755 and 1790. Six compositions by Dr. Shlomo Rubin (1823-1910), of the Haskalah Movement leaders in Galicia, a prolific Hebrew writer and translator of many classic books into Hebrew.

Two group photos, two cloth-ribbons with embroided Star of David and two silver and cloth badges with engraved dedications, for Yoachim Caspari and other fencers, members of a Jewish fencing club in Germany. [Berlin? 1910].
In the group photos fencers are seen with a cloth-ribbon on their chest and embroidered Star of David, (some also wear a hat with a Star of David). On the two badges Caspari's name is engraved and on each one of them an additional name is engraved (Caspari was 18 or 19 when he was granted the badges). Attached are three medals (iron cross) of WW I. Photos 22X28 cm, cloth-ribbons 103X3.5 cm, badges app. 7X3 cm. Overall good condition.

Collection of items of Ya'akov Kovansky of Virbalis, gymnast and soccer player, member of "Maccabi" Lithuania.
* notebook / travel journal. In June 1928 Kovansky cycled around Lithuania and visited Jewish institutes (mainly sports organizations and educational institutes). Wherever he arrived, he asked the representative of the institute which he visited to sign the notebook which he carried with him. The notebook presented here, documents his journey through the cities of Shavel,Kurshenai,Jurbarkas, Vilkaviskis, Marijampole, Fren, Kovno,Jonava and Panavezys. A map is attached, hand-drawn, with records of all the towns and villages which he visited. In Kursenai, an inscription was added "I wish you…that soon you will travel on your bicycle from Dan to Eilat through all of our country…".
Attached: * Blue and white flag with the inscription "Hebrew Gymnasium of Virbalis" – the flag was attached to the bicycle handlebars during the trip (see photo opening the diary). *Member card of "Maccabi" Lithuania * Blue cloth scarf with silver flowers, with two blue and white Stars of David embroidered on the two edges. * Participant's card, first Maccabia, Tel-Aviv, 1932. Extensive archive of documents, from the estate of Dr. Yoachim Caspari and his wife Shoshana. Zitomir, Germany and Eretz Israel, first half of the 20th century.
Dr. Yoachim Caspari (1892-1966) was born in the region of Uckermark, Germany. In 1896 his family moved to Berlin. His father was a physician. He graduated from highschool in Berlin in 1910 and started to study medicine in the University of Munich. Was drafted to the German Army as a physician in WW I; worked in the University Hospital in Berlin and in 1924 immigrated to Eretz Israel. He worked as a doctor in the "Reali" High School in Haifa and later in Hadassah in Jerusalem and Mother and Baby clinics in Jerusalem and in other cities. In the late 1920 Caspari moved to Haifa and worked there as a private pediatrician. Published a book (in German) "Das Oberbewusstsein" – "Consciousness". His wife, Shoshana Caspari, neé Bradinstein (1900-1977), native of Zitomir, nurse, worked and volunteered for many years.
The archive includes: letters and photos, personal documents, diplomas of Medical School, typewritten memoire, handwritten lists of Yoachim's studies, stock-certificates, entrance ticket to the inauguration of the university, certificates of appreciation and other items (in German and in Hebrew). Lot of approximately 260 items, size and condition varies.
