Huge collection of letters and handwritten leaves, from the archive of Rabbi Yosef Zvi (Maharitz) Dushinsky Rabbi of Khust, Galanta and Jerusalem.
The archives contains: Dozens of leaves of Torah novellae and letters in the handwriting of Maharitz Dushinsky [some from his youth]. Various letters on Torah topics and other matters, sent to Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky Rabbi of Khust, Galanta and Jerusalem from various rabbis and disciples. Various documents from communities where he served in the rabbinate. [Proclamation on lithograph copy of a ban against the establishment of a "Prayer House" and school by the Neolog circles.
Amongst the letters: *Letters from his father and family. *Letters from his elder brother Rabbi Matityahu Dushinsky [disciple of his uncle Maharam Shick and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Litch-Rosenbaum. Died in 1892 at a young age. Some of his novellae were printed in the Maharitz responsa]. Includes the historical letter from 1892 in which his brother calls him to his father's sickbed. [The Maharitz Dushinsky tells about this letter in the introduction. He relates that when he reached his father, his brother fell ill and suddenly died, two days before his father left this world – see attached material]. *Letters, handwritten and signed by the Nitra Gaon, Rabbi Shmuel David HaLevi Unger, Rabbi Moshe Sofer, Av Beit Din of Erlau, and many more letters from rabbis throughout Hungary and other countries. Letters from the Maharitz Dushinsky's disciples, writing their rabbi about all their concerns and requesting that he pray on their behalf.
Hundreds of leaves, size and condition vary. Most are in Fair-bad condition, wear and damages caused by moisture. Some are professionally restored.

Letter confirming receipt of funds for “Kamenetz Yeshiva in Vilnius”, handwritten and signed by Mashgiach [spiritual leader] of Yeshiva Rabbi “Naftali Zev Leibowitz”. January 3rd, 1940.
Letter written during period that Yeshiva was uprooted from conquered city of Kamenetz and reestablished in Vilnius, and approximately a month and a half following demise of Rosh Yeshiva, Ga’on Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz, who passed away in Vilnius on November 17th, 1939.
Righteous Ga’on Rabbi Naftali Zev HaKohen Leibowitz, favorite student of Alter of Slabodka. Son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Zimmerman Av Beit Din of Kremenchuk. Served as spiritual leader of Kamenetz Yeshiva headed by his brother-in-law, Ga’on Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz. When his brother-in-law, the Rosh Yeshiva, traveled to U.S.A. he took over management of all matters pertaining to Yeshiva. During War years devotedly directed the Yeshiva during its exile to Vilnius and Reisen. Arrived in U.S.A. and established Kamenetz Yeshiva in New York. Passed away on Chanukah 1954. The book Degel Naftali (New York, 1958) was published in his memory.

Letter by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Landau, to Rabbi Shmuel Salant and Aderet [Rabbi Eliyahu David Rabinowitz Teomim]. Includes large handwritten pamphlet. Kovno, summer 1904.
Pamphlet contains Halachic-polemic question, in which writer quotes current press regarding eulogy ceremonies in commemoration of Dr. Herzl. He mentions the black ribbons which are a non-Jewish custom and the selling of pictures and sculptures of image of Herzl and continues with discussion as to whether this constitutes Idolatry. The writer cites the press describing a commemoration ceremony which was conducted in “Broza Garden” in Motza, beneath tree which Herzl planted there, where statues of Herzl were positioned on both sides of the stage, and he discusses at length whether this tree is considered an Astarte which was worshiped as an idol…
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Landau, from city of Kovno, Torah scholar and sharp polemicist, among most wealthy personalities of Kovno. Among leaders of first assembly of Orthodox Jewry in opposition of Zionism. In 1899, under initiative of Rabbi Shalom Ber Schneersohn, community activists gathered together under leadership of Rabbi Ya’akov Lifshitz and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Landau, in order to discuss means of struggle in opposition of Zionism. In 1900 Rabbi Shlomo Zalman together with his friend, Rabbi Yosef Rabinowitz, published the book Or LaYesharim (Warsaw, 1900), which was composed of letters and articles from leading Torah giants in opposition of Zionism. This assembly was referred to as “HaLishka HaShchora BeKovno” [black bureau of Kovno] by the Zionists. This sharp polemic article, contains inquiry of Halachic approaches as well as autograph of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Landau, member of “HaLishka HaShchora”.

Three letters from Rabbi Ovadia Yosef to Rabbi Moshe Maimon Av Bet Din Kiryat Ata. Two letters in his handwriting: Letter of approval to Rabbi Maimon’s book “Lev Tov”, and a letter attached to it in which Rabbi Ovadia writes, among other matters, that he is flying to Iran, and that he will contact him on his return. Jerusalem, 1976. * Harsh letter against Rabbi Shlomo Goren in which Rabbi Ovadia writes: "In the next world, the true world, after one hundred and twenty years, they will announce, See what is between my son and my father-in-law! Where is place of Ploni who followed Goren? And here is place Ploni who went with the Rishon LeZion? The righteous will go with them and the sinners will fall with them...” [Rabbi Goren served with Rabbi Ovadia as Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi and in fact controlled the Chief Rabbinate Council. There was much tension between them and an ideological dispute in connection with several halachic decisions. This tension is also reflected in this letter]. (Typed letter signed in his handwriting).

Letter of recommendation from Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. Letter written in scribe writing and signed in his holy signature with addition of words in his handwriting: “Great Mitzvah to assist him”. [Jerusalem, c. 1990’s-2000’s].
Request “to honorable scholar Ovadia Yosef” that he “speak with Rabbi Eliyahu Yisai and recommend that he return … to his original position” [in Shas political party], “… and he has large expenses, therefore must be assisted with attaining livelihood”.
Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, born at end of 19th century in Iraq. Absorbed Torah and Kabbalah from scholars of Iraq and Jerusalem and immigrated to the Holy Land in 1922. In his first years in Jerusalem, he earned his livelihood from binding books and manuscripts; studied in Beit El and Porat Yosef Yeshivot. Over the years, his wisdom in Kabbala became well-known, and many flocked to his home for blessings, advice, and amulets. Passed away at age of over one hundred, in 2006.
