Detached cover, tears at edges, ink stamp.

Fonen in blut (shpanye – 1936), lider un poemen, Ya'akov Glantz. Published by "Gezbir" society in Mexico (society for assisting Jewish settlement in Birobidjan). Mexico, November 1936. Yiddish.
"Fonen in blut", poetry book by Ya'akov Glantz. A dedication handsigned by Glantz on the title page, in Yiddish. The poems deal with the Civil War in Spain in 1936. All revenues from sales of this book supported "The Spanish Liberty Fighters". The book was published under the sponsorship of "Gezbir" society, Jewish society encouraging establishment of Jewish autonomous settlement in Birobidjan. Illustrations by William Gropper and Manuela B. Ya'akov Glantz (1902-1982), Yiddish poet and author, native of Ukraine. Immigrated to Mexico in 1925, and died there. 60, [4] pp, 20 cm. good condition.

Literary anthology, no other volumes printed. The writers' group that published the book was unable to find a printing house in the Soviet Union prepared to print a Hebrew book, and the manuscript was therefore sent to Berlin for printing. Only a small portion of the printed copies were allowed into the Soviet Union. [1], 199, [5] pp, 23cm. Good condition. Minor stains, creases. Loose binding with minor damages.
