Illustrated poster for "Yom HaYam", the holiday of Hebrew seamanship.
"Zevulun" Sailors Association was founded in Eretz Israel during the British Mandate for training a generation of Jewish seamen. The association operated the maritime school "Zevulun". The trainees assisted in maritime operations, in constructing the Tel Aviv port and in the illegal immigration efforts. Graduates of the school served in the Israeli Navy and the merchant marine. 63X48 cm. Good condition. Folding marks, stains, tears (restored tears to one of the corners).

Below the portrait appear a verse of Jabotinsky's poem "HaNeder" and a verse of his poem "Smol HaYarden". On the lower part of the poster appears a citation of Colonel M.F. Scott, commander of regiment 40 (the "Eretz Israel Regiment" of the Jewish Legion):"England…took a page out of the bible on which appears the earliest prophecy…and we declared the guarantee of England. The nation cannot cancel this signature". 61.5X94 cm. Good condition. Folding-marks. Professionally restored tears. Cloth-backed for display and preservation.

Koffman and Co.". Tel-Aviv, [1948]. A poster on behalf of Tel-Aviv municipality announcing the collection of a special tax for public bomb shelters and defense services. An illustration in color by Pesach Ir-Shay (1896-1968), a graphic designer, painter and Israeli typographer of Hungarian origin. Ir-Shay was one of the leading graphic designers in Israel. He designed posters for the state authorities and institutions, logos for various companies, advertisement and propaganda posters as well as the modern font "Chaim". 62X94 cm. Good condition, folding marks, creases, minor stains.
