Passport picture of Rabbi Shach, from his youth. [C. early 1900s].
Rabbi Elazar Menachem-Mann Shach (1888-2002), was born in Lithuania and studied in his youth in Ponovitch, Slobodka and Slutzk yeshivas. Taught in the Klezk Yeshiva in Poland and was head of the Karlin Yeshiva in Luninyets. During the Holocaust years, he ascended to Eretz Yisrael and taught in the Klezk Yeshiva in Rehovot. Later, was appointed teacher and head of Ponovitch Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. Member and head of Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah, Rabbi Shach led the Torah world for decades.
4.5X6.2 cm. Fair condition, stains, cracks with minor damage, handwritten inscription on reverse side of photograph "Eliezer Shach" [perhaps his handwriting].
Photographs from the time of his youth are rare.

Israeli passport of Rebbe of Lublin – Rabbi Avraham Eiger, with his photograph and handwritten signature.
The holy Rabbi Avraham Eiger (1914-2003), direct descendant of the Ga’on Rabbi Akiva Eiger, son of Rebbe Rabbi Shlomo Eiger of Lublin. Immigrated to Eretz Israel, settled in Bnei Brak and began serving as Rebbe of Lublin in 1945. Was known for his righteousness and abstinence from worldly pleasures. The Ga’on Rabbi Shmuel Wosner stated that his glowing image resembles the portrait of his grandfather Rabbi Akiva Eiger [see attached material].
14.5 cm. Good condition, stains and slight wear. Ink-stamps, postage stamps and notations from his various journeys.

The holy Rabbi Yochanan Twersky (1903-1982, Encyclopedia of Hassidism II, pp. 95-96), son of Rabbi David of Rachmastrivka, of the Chernobyl dynasty. During the communist era immersed himself in his studies with total devotion, was apprehended and nearly executed and hung; he was however miraculously saved. In 1926 immigrated to Eretz Israel together with his father and grandfather and was active in the establishment of the Chassidism in the Holy Land. In 1950 began serving as Rebbe of Rachmastrivka in Jerusalem and founded the Me’or Einayim Yeshiva. The Chassidism flourished and developed tremendously under his leadership.

British passport – “Palestinian regime”, of the Ga’on Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, with his photograph and handwritten signature.
Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna (1889-1969), among leading giants of Torah and ethics. Closely associated disciple of the “Alter of Slabodka” Rabbi Natan Tzvi Finkel, and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein Rosh Yeshiva of Knesset Yisrael in Slabodka. Rabbi Yechezkel was among founders of branch of the Yeshiva in city of Hebron in 1925, and after the demise of his father-in-law headed the Yeshiva which moved to Jerusalem. Among leaders of Council of Torah Sages whose opinions were considered definitive in all relevant public matters.

Contains notations and a Visa stamp to Egypt from 1936 (which was apparently not utilized), stamps invalidating passport, and cutting of margin on front cover indicating that the passport has been cancelled.
