Boxes for collecting money for Kollel Poland in Jerusalem, the Rabbi Meir Ba'al Haness fund, Kollel Chibat Yerushalayim, Or HaTorah school and yeshiva in Tiberias, Kollel Shomrei HaChomot in Jerusalem, and other institutes in Eretz Israel (primarily Jerusalem). Most of the Eretz Israel charity boxes were created by Alfred Salzmann.
Varied size, fair to very good conditions.

Handsome jewelry box, made of five crystal plates in a decorated copper frame. A colored illustration is printed on outside of cover with the inscription "Vue de Jerusalem". The inside of the box is covered with red fabric.
Height: 6.5 cm, width: 6.5 cm, depth: 6.5 cm. Good condition.

Stanhope, miniature pendant shaped like binoculars. [Europe, beginning of 20th century].
Bakelite; copper.
Miniature pendant for a necklace. Two separate pictures can be viewed through the binocular lenses – The Tomb of Rachel can be seen from one lens and people praying near the Western Wall can be seen from the other. Apparently, it was produced in Europe and sold in Eretz Israel as a tourist souvenir.
The Stanhope, an optical devices that enable the viewing of microphotographs without using a microscope, was invnted in 1857 by René Dagron.
Size: 1.5X2.5 cm.

4-5. Two wooden egg-shaped spice containers. At the end of one spice container is a peephole which presents a miniature photograph of the Maria Magdalena Church (Stanhope, see previous item).

* Round wooden tobacco box. Written on the cover is "Yerushalem" in Hebrew and English. * Copper plate in a round wooden frame, praying near the Western Wall. Manufactured by "Sharar" (a subsidiary of "Bezalel"). * Case for calling cards, made of cardboard and leather and decorated with a copper plate and gilded impression "Yerushalem". * Olivewood plate with an embossment of the Western Wall and printed inscription "Yerushalem Western Wall". On the back is a stamp "Yosef Rabinowitz, olivewood craftsman in Yerushalem".

The stone was used for printing a Jerusalem souvenir leaf, titled "Jerusalem Mark 9 April 1913". Folded leafs with 12 pictures of Jerusalem and its surroundings, such as Yad Avshalom, people praying at the Western Wall, a street in the Old City and other sites were printed with this stone.
Width: 41 cm. length: 33 cm. height: 6 cm.

Iron box, manufactured in the "Wagner Brothers" factory. Eretz Israel (apparently, Jaffa), [late 19th – early 20th century].
The Wagner brothers, part of one of the important Templar families who settled in Eretz Israel, established their factory for casting and manufacturing metal products in the Walhalla neighborhood (near Neve Tzedek) in 1890. Their factory pioneered in the field of machinery and specialized in casting metals and iron crafting. Impressed on this box is the inscription "Gebr. Wagner Haifa-Syrien" [Wagner Brothers, Haifa-Syria]; possibly used for storage or for transporting bottles.
Width: 43.5 cm. length: 29 cm. height: 12 cm (not including handles). Fair-poor condition.

Beer jug (0.5 liter), manufactured by Villeroy & Boch Co. Saar Basin, [between 1920-1935, apparently 1929].
Ceramic jug; pewter cover. Stamped on underside.
The jug has an illustration of the Israeli flag (on the upper left side black&white squares) connected to a pole. Engraved on the cover are a personal dedication (in German) and a monogram of the letters WM. At the time the jug was manufactured, Saar Basin (located at the border between Germany and France) was under the jurisdiction of the United Nations as decided in the Treaty of Versailles.
Height: 15 cm. diameter : 10.5 cm.

Zinc plates, each bearing a portrait in the center framed by a Star of David entwined with a bouquet of branches.
11x11 cm. to 11x12 cm. The portraits of Herzl and Bialik are nailed to a period wood backing board, –20x29.5 cm. The plate with Bialik's portrait is missing a corner.

Trousers and a dark khaki coat made of coarse wool, used in 1949 as a winter uniform, the first IDF uniform for soldiers. On the lapels are two small IDF insignias. The uniform was originally made for the US army. Good condition.
