On the borders of two issues appear handwritten dedications by J.H. Brenner. In one dedication Brenner writes: "Please forgive the editing of the letter "Ashrecha" which was inadequate. It so happened that while under the printing press the letters and vowelizations were scattered due to carelessness and in order to avoid any delay in the publishing of the booklet----- please let me know when you have received the booklet and the brochures. Respectfully, J.H. Brenner". Volume 21.5 cm. Good condition. Ex-library copy. Missing leaf in one of the issues. Chopped borders and incomplete dedications.

Anthology of poetry which includes works by Russian poets, amongst them: Ivan Bunin, Konstantin Belmont, Vladislav Khodasevich and many others. A short dedication appears at the opening of the book, handwritten by the Jewish-Russian poet David Knut (Meerovich). Knut (1900-1955) was born in the city of Orgeev in Bessarabia (present day Orchei, Moldova). When Bessarabia was annexed to Romania his family immigrated to Paris, where Knut was involved with writing and editing as well as with activity for the Jewish community. In the early 1940s Knut was one of the founders of the Armee Juive (the Jewish army), a Jewish-Zionist resistance movement in France. The goal of this movement was to fight the Nazis and establish a Jewish state in Palestine. Made Aliya to Eretz Israel with his wife in 1949. X, [6], 242 pp, 18.5 cm. Good condition. Stains.

Booklet containing essays by Yonathan Ratosh, concerning the issues of action and thought of the Jewish National Movement, its goals and identity in general and vis-à-vis the British Rule in particular. Several corrections and additions handwritten by Ratosh. Attached is a letter handwritten by Ratosh (Halperin) dealing with the publication of his essays (sent from Paris in February 1938). A large-scale collection of documents from the archive of Gershon Rivlin, 1940-s until the 1990-s (most of the documents are from the 60-s-70-s).
Gershon Rivlin (1914-1994), historian, author, editor and lecturer was born in Dvinsk. Rivlin immigrated to Israel with his parents when he was seven years old. His family settled in Ramat Gan and managed an agricultural farm. His father, Zalman Rivlin, was an educator and member of Ramat Gan's first council. In the times before the establishment of the State of Israel, Rivlin joined the Haganah, was active in publishing underground newspapers and operating an underground radio station, and was considered an expert on the underground movements in the time of the British Mandate. In 1940, he became the first editor of the IDF newspaper Ma'archot. Rivlin served in the Haganah and in the IDF for over 30 years and reached the rank of Colonel. After his retirement in 1972, he became a senior editor of the Am Oved publishing company. Later, he was a senior lecturer of the History of Eretz Yisrael in Ben Gurion University, a researcher in the Institute for Study of the Underground movements in Bar Ilan University, a member of the board of directors of the Eretz Yisrael Museum etc. Rivlin wrote and edited dozens of books, including David Ben Gurion's diary and a book on the history of the Haganah.
