Postcards by “Wiener Werkstäte” were produced between the years 1907-1918 and designed by the best designers of the period (including Kokoschka and Egon Schiele), and are considered to be the most impressive and important art nouveau postcards. Very good condition.

Postcard calling for donation to "Achiezer" society. [Probably Warsaw, Neischul & E. Bernstein printing press], 1916.
The postcard is designed as a food-card in color; a text in Yiddish is printed on the reverse, calling for a donation to "Achiezer" society. "Achiezer" was an aid-society for assisting the sick, for charity and for taking care of orphans, active in Warsaw as of 1888. Good condition. Inscription in ink on the reverse.

On the upper part appear "Shana Tovah" greetings, below which is an impressive illustration of a man riding a lion with eleven burning candles, encircled with a rose bush, illustrated by the artist William Wachtel. "Kadima Leopol." is printed on the lower part as well as a handwritten inscription "Avraham Korkis and his family, Jacob Korkis" - Avraham Korkis (1865-1922) – of the first Zionist Movement members and of the Galician Zionists leaders, head of the Zionist organization in Galicia and delegate to the first Zionist Congress. Good condition. Mailed.

Adolf Stand (1870-1919) was one of the leaders of the Zionist Movement in Austro-Hungary, served as president of the Galician Zionists, and in 1907 was one of the three Zionist candidates who were elected as members of the local Galician Parliament (under the Austro-Hungarian Empire). It is possible that the postcards were printed in view of the elections that were held in 1907. The postcards were sent by Stand by mail and they bear short letters, hand signed by Stand. Good condition, stains, creases, missing corner.

Gliniany, 1903. * Invitation-postcard to a meeting concerning the "founding of a society to spread Jewish studies and literature". Lvov, 1906 (signed in print: Shlomo Buber, Dr. Shmuel Rapaport, Meir Balaban and others). * Postcard on behalf of "Tikvat Zion" society, invitation to a general yearly meeting. Lvov, 1907. * Postcard with a poem's stanza and the greeting "Ziongruss!", added to it is a handwritten letter by the geographer and historian Avraham Ya'akov Hacohen Brawer, addressed to R' Meir Eliezer Lifshitz (both were in their 20s at the time). Good condition, varies.
