Booklet with jokes about a Jew living in Aberdeen (called "the Granite City, in Scotland). It is said, that people believe that there are no Jews in Aberdeen at all, but in fact there is a Jew by the name of Isaac Levi, who sometimes presents himself as Donald McSforn and wears a Scotish kilt. This Levi was arrested in the past by the police, and is under its supervision. The text continues in a humoristic style, that Levi tells many stories against his own people, alike other Jews, and that this booklet brings these stories. 36 pp, 22 cm. Good condition. Last page is partly detached.

18 documents - Gertrude and Artur Wolff. Breslau and Shanghai, 1930s-40s. German and English.
The documents tell how the Wolff couple left Germany after the rise of the Nazi regime and arrived in Shanghai, China, as refugees. Gertrude Wolff was integrated into the Jewish Community and became chairwoman of the women's organization in the Shanghai Jewish Community. Among the documents: a character reference issued by the police in the name of Artur Wolff, Breslau, July 1943; two member-cards of Judischer Kulturbud in Breslau in the name of Gertrude Wolff; an official certificate issued by "Directory of Jewish Refugees" in Shanghai, in the name of Artur Wolff, March 1940; A "Tree Donation" certificate issued by JNF in the name of Gertrude Wolff, Shanghai, 1947; Letters from the following: Chewra Kadischa for Immigrants, WIZO – Shanghai Branch, and other organizations. Lot of 19 documents (several appear twice), sizes and conditions vary.

A special announcement stating "Today 700 Jews were arrested in Amsterdam" and that Jews are being deported from Amsterdam to concentration and labor camps in Germany. Holland was occupied in May 1940; in 1941 severe restrictions were imposed on the Jews and they were gathered in Amsterdam; in 1942 Jews have been deported to concentration and extermination camps. [1] leaf, 20.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Tears.

A Ten-Mark coin, minted by the Ghetto Lodz Judenrat for use by the Ghetto inhabitants. Lodz, 1943.
Cast aluminum. On one side "Der Aelteste der Juden in Litzmannstadt" and on the reverse an illustration of a Magen David and the inscription "Getto 1943". Diameter: 3 cm. Fair-good condition. The coin was examined and approved as authentic.

Only a few Hebrew and Yiddish books from Shanghai from 1948 appear in bibliography lists since most Jews, holocaust refugees, left Shanghai in 1946-1947.

About 90 paper items which belonged to Abraham Langleben, native of Warsaw, 1912. During the holocaust Langleben was in the Warsaw Ghetto (1939-1942) and afterwards was imprisoned in various camps, including Maidanek. After the war he stayed in Italian DP camps in Bangoli, Rivoli and Barletta (where he worked as a policeman). In the early or mid 1950s he immigrated to the US. The documents include:
Certificate issued by the UN International Refugees Organization; member-card "Union of General Zionists in Italy", 1947; notebook with lists of addresses of people and of assistance organizations in the US (handwritten); certificate confirming that Langleben worked at the "Ort" school in Barletta; receipt for donation of "Shekel HaYovel" in Italy in 1947; letter from Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Canal Rebbe of Lashki and member of Rabbis Council of Warsaw, 1931. Seven photos portraying the doctor, Dr. Leopold Kohlberg, and the medical team in the Wegscheid DP camp, barrack 44, Linz, Austria, 1947. Some photos are annotated in the plate "Linz 1947, Lager Wegscheid, Barak 44".
Attached are five letters and personal documents which belonged to Dr. Kohlberg of the days he worked as a doctor in Wegscheid camp. In one of the letters Dr. Kohlberg tells that he is a Jewish refugee, that all of his family was murdered in Poland and that he only has one brother in Palestine. Photos 6X8.5 cm to 8.5X11 cm. Good condition.
