Archive of documents, letters and certificates, of Rabbi Moshe Lefkowitz ("native of Bojná", died in 1934). [Hungary and Romania], end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century.
Includes letters of recommendation by rabbis (Rabbi Yeshaya Fuerst Rabbi of Vienna, and Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Glick rabbi of Tolcsva), official certificates and various documents. Not thoroughly examined, most items are in Hungarian or Romanian.

A collection of family letters including a section of a letter by the "Gaon of Makova" Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Deitsch, a postcard from his son Rabbi Yehoshua Rabbi of Katamon and two letters by his son-in-law Rabbi Ya'akov Leibowitz the Rabbi of Kapish.
Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Segal Deitsch (1876-1938, Otzar HaRabbanim 6338), a Torah genius and a chassid. Dayan and Rabbi in Makova for 35 years. Disciple of the author of "Arugot HaBosem". Frequented the courts of Rebbe Yechezkel of Shinova and the Belzer Rebbe. Wrote many books on halacha, agadda and Chassidism.
His son-in-law, Rabbi Ya'akov Segal Leibowitz (died in 1980), served as Rabbi of Kapish (Hungary). After the Holocaust, was head of the Orthodox Beit Din in Budapest that was primarily concerned with releasing agunot of the "she'erit hapleita", Holocaust survivors. He wrote in the introduction to his book Mishnat Ya'akov responsa: "As Head of Beit Din of releasing agunot in the country of Hungary from 1945 until the end of 1950, and with Heaven's help, women and men were released to marry, approximately five thousand without error, even one of them". The last decades of his life he lived in the US, where he was recognized as one of the leading ruling rabbis, was one of the heads of the Rabbis Union in the US and was known as the Rabbi of Kapish.
His son, Rabbi Yehoshua Segal Deitsch (1910-1990) author of "Beit HaLachmi", son-in-law of Rabbi David Shfarber Rabbi of Borshchov. Disciple of the Maharitz Dushinsky and Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum. After the Holocaust, he immigrated to Jerusalem where he was appointed Rabbi of Katamon and was the first Rosh Yeshiva of the Belz Yeshivot in Eretz Yisrael.

Letter from Khust congregation to their former rabbi, the Ga’on Rabbi Yosef Zvi [Maharitz] Dushinski Av Beit Din of Jerusalem. Khust, [1935].
Letter of greeting in honor of the arrival of the Maharitz Dushinski to the Karlsbad spa town, approximately three years after leaving the city of Khust in order to serve as Av Beit Din in Jerusalem (in 1933), following his promise to take this opportunity and visit Khust.
“We can not describe our happiness upon the good news reaching us that the Rebbe arrived at the city of Karlsbad… upon the immigration of the Rebbe to the Holy Land we were forced to separate from him… the Rebbe is etched upon the heart of every Jew of our town and we feel a deep emotional bond with him…”.
Lengthy and touching letter in which the intense admiration that the Jews of Khust sensed toward their former Rebbe is apparent. Signed on behalf of Jews of Khust: Leader of congregation, who added a personal letter regarding arrangement of visit of Maharitz in town, on margins.
33 cm. Fair condition, tears, stains and smearing of ink.

Composed twenty five books of "Chazon Yechezkel" on the Tosefta and more. Memorial books were published in his memory.

The letter deals with a number of Halachic matters (of which three responses were edited in the Igrot Moshe Responsa: Orach Chaim 1, Siman 7; Orach Chaim 1, Siman 163; Choshen Mishpat 1, Siman 94). The letter contains an interesting description of his busy daily schedule as Rosh Yeshiva and Halachic authority: “… please be informed, my friend, that I am barely available since I am in the Yeshiva the entire day, and New York is a large metropolitan; so even the few who come to discuss Torah matters are many…”.

Signed by Torah giants: Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, Rabbi Moshe Horowitz – Bostoner Rebbe, Rabbi Baruch Sorotzkin the Telshe Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Nachum Mordechai Perlow – Rebbe of Novominsk, Rabbi Shneur Kotler Rosh Yeshiva of Lakewood Yeshiva and Rabbi Moshe Sherer.
In the letter written in honor of the primary election in Eretz Israel, members of the USA Agudat Yisrael directorate call out, to all faction leaders “whom we are certain operate for the sake of heaven”, to be cautious in preserving the honor of the Torah, which is the fundamental role of "Agudat Yisrael". At margins of letter they note that “this letter is totally internal and confidential and we request that it not be publicized in any manner whatsoever – other than to whom it is intended”.
