A useful and literary Eretz Israel calendar edited by Avraham Moshe Luntz. Printed and published by the editor, Jerusalem, [1895-1912].
Eleven calendars for the years: 1896, 1897, 1900, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1913 (21 calendars have been printed, for the years 1895-1916). The calendars include useful information about Eretz Israel side by side with literary and poetic passages. In the 1900 calendar appear a signature of Rabbi Yehuda Yudl Rosenberg and a folded leaf: a glory poem for Baron Rothschild in the shape of a cedar tree. Average size 16.5 cm. Condition varies, fair-good. Several missing leaves and covers.

Illustrations of the Western Wall, Me'arat Hamachpeila, Rachel's Tomb and the gravesite of Rabbi Meir Ba'al Hanes. Numerous comments, handwritten by the author Meistermann, appear within the book, on the title-page and on the preceding page. Meistermann was a researcher of Eretz Israel and the author of "Guide to the Holy Land" (the handwriting was checked and found identical to the author's handwriting in the Dormition Abbey on Mount Zion, where he lived and worked). XXVI maps and drawings, 248 pp, 22 cm. Good condition. Ink stamps.

Christiaan van Adrichom (1533-1585) - a catholic priest, native of Delft (Holland), composed several essays about Eretz Israel. This book brings a comprehensive description of the Holy Land, with a dozen folded maps - hand-painted etchings: two large maps, one of Eretz Israel and the other of Jerusalem as well as ten maps of Israel's Tribes, with illustrations of significant biblical sites. At the end of the book: a passage focusing on sites in Jerusalem during the period of Jesus and a chronologic description of biblical events starting with the creation of Adam. The book was published in six editions, the first one in 1590, and was translated into several languages. [12], 286, [30] pp, 12 folded maps, 33.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Moth-damages and tears, professionally restored. Moth-holes to some of the maps. Tears to some of the maps. Several maps are paper-backed, for conservation. Elaborate leather binding, new (attached are remnants of the original binding). Damages are professionally restored. Book is in a fine box.
